NPCC is governed by a hybrid Board of Directors consisting of stakeholders balanced by sector, an independent Chairman, two Co-Vice Chairs, the President, and the Secretary.
The Board directs the activities of NPCC, accepts additional entities as Members, approves Member Voting Sector assignment, and makes assignments to the committees of NPCC. The Board approves and oversees NPCC's Regional Reliability Standards Development Process and submits such Regional Standards to the ERO for adoption by FERC and appropriate Canadian Provincial regulatory and/or governmental authorities. The Board approves the NPCC Compliance Enforcement Program and the assessment and enforcement of mandatory compliance with Reliability Standards consistent with the Regional Delegation Agreement and agreements backstopped by appropriate Canadian Provincial regulatory and/or governmental authorities, and oversees NPCC’s assessment and enforcement of mandatory compliance with regionally-specific reliability criteria. The duties of the Board also include consideration and resolution of all budgetary matters.
